ABOUT US

The dream of sailing across the Pacific Ocean is one that many share, but few actually get to experience. For my family and me, this dream is becoming a reality. Starting on July 1st, 2023, we will embark on a four-year journey aboard the SilverLining, a large sloop sailing yacht, to explore some of the most breathtaking places in the world. 

Our itinerary is ambitious and spans four years, with each year taking us to new and exciting destinations in and around the Pacific. 

Year one will see us sailing the Indonesian and other south-east Asian waters, discovering hidden gems along the way. 

Year two will take us further through Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, China, Russia, Alaska, Canada, USA, Mexico, towards Panama. 

In year three, we venture further south, visiting Galapagos and then Ushuaia, Antarctica before making our way back to Panama and/or the Tuamotu's in French Polynesia. 

Finally, in year four, we will island-hop towards the West back to Thailand, including stops in New Zealand and Australia.

However, this journey isn't just about exploration and adventure, it's also about making a difference. As we sail along and across the Pacific, we will be undertaking research into Phytoplankton and its nutrients, as well as on microplastics. We are already collaborating with universities in Miami, Brussels and there are more to come. A scientist will be onboard 24/7 to cater for the research, sampling, measurements, and processing. 

Our eventual goal is to help make the world a better place by contributing to scientific knowledge about our oceans and how we can protect them.

In conclusion, sailing across the Pacific on board the SilverLining is a dream come true for my family, friends and me. It's an opportunity to explore the world, make a difference through scientific research, and experience the beauty and wonder of the Pacific Ocean firsthand.
